Discover Snorkeling

Enjoy the Mediterranean blue waters in 2 different places as an adventure with our speed boats. Snorkeling is a popular recreational activity, particularly in Chania. The primary appeal is to observe the marine life in its natural environment and is suitable for all age groups. Snorkeling requires no special training, only the ability to swim and be able to breathe through a snorkel.

As with our certified divers and course students you will be transferred from your pick up point to the dive centre arriving around 9.30. After completing the required paperwork you will be given your equipment (mask, fins, snorkel, shorty wetsuit), you will have a briefing with your guide who will explain the snorkeling sites, where they are and what you might see. For anyone who has never snorkeled before the guide will demonstrate how to use the equipment. Next step is getting into one of our fast boats (RHIB’s) for a 20-25 minute trip to the first snorkeling site. The guide will accompany you at both sites. When you return to the dive centre you will be transferred back to your pick up point.

Open Water Dive Course (by PADI):
Congratulation! You are already certified divers!

The Open Water Diver is the most popular course, it’s over a 4 day period and this certification will allow you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 18 metres with another certified diver and not necessarily under the supervision of a PADI professional. The course consists of 3 main areas.

  • Knowledge development – through instruction or online to understand the basic principles of Scuba Diving.
  • Confined water dives - to learn the basic diving skills.
  • Open water dives – to practice your skills and explore the underwater world.

The fun part about this course is ….. well , just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible. You breathe underwater for the first time (an experience you will always remember) and learn the practical skills along with the theoretical knowledge you need to become a certified diver. During the course you will have 5 training dives in the swimming pool and 4 open water training dives with your Instructor.

During the course you will learn how to use the basic scuba diving equipment such as the regulator, tank and buoyancy control device whilst wearing a wetsuit, weightbelt, mask, fins and snorkel. You will also learn how to use a dive computer.

A variety of home study materials cover what you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. While eLearning is the most convenient option, you may also choose a book and DVD package or a multimedia DVD-ROM. Later, as a certified diver you can use the course materials as a reference guide for future diving adventures and to review what you have learned.
